What are All the Beneficial Vitamins for Teenagers?

Vitamins are essential for normal growth, metabolism, development and proper functioning of the body during teenage years. As we already know there are two types of vitamins are there:

1)Water soluble vitamins.
2)Fat soluble vitamins.

Water soluble vitamins include the B vitamins and vitamin C and are easily absorbed and secreted through urine by the body. The fat soluble vitamins are A, D, E and K stored in the body for fewer days in the tissues and liver. These all vitamins play a role either directly or indirectly in their growth. For girls, this generally occurs around 10 to 11 years of age, while for boys it occurs later, at around 12 to 13 years. At this age goes through many physical and biological changes occur in the body.

Nutritional and energy needs at this time are greater than at any other time of life, except during pregnancy and breast feeding. So they need to have a healthy diet, including the right levels of vitamins and minerals. They can be going through fast growth spurts, as well as some major hormonal and developmental changes as they move through puberty.


Here are some of the vitamins which can help you for proper functioning of your body.

Folic acid and vitamin B12, vitamin B1 (Thiamin), vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), and vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin B6 and vitamin D are needed for tissue growth and skeletal growth, formed cells relies on the presence of vitamins A, C, and E which helps in cell growth, need for calcium, magnesium and zinc so that the bones can increase their density.

Many times eating a nutritional and balanced diet is not possible but vitamin supplements can be helpful and avoid taking mega doses as it will harm the health. But take these vitamin supplements through the doctor consultation.
