Different Types of Shopping Malls

Shopping mall is a building or set of buildings with a number of retail shops. Earlier there were shopping centers where a customer could move around attractive blocks and would purchase what ever he wanted. Now-a-days visitors can walk from one unit to other and also can take rest and relax at snack bars while they are doing shopping. Shopping malls are also referred as retail parks. There are different types of shopping malls, such as: 
Fashion or specialty centers: These type of shopping malls are characterized as higher end and they are fashion oriented centers which can be about 80,000 to 2,50,000 square feet in area. 
Community centers: These type of centers can be 1,00,000 to 3,50,000 square feet. Discount department store or large specialty store, are two types of anchors. 
Lifestyle centers: They are the other type of shopping mall and they have a cinema as a major tenant and have small collection of outlets. 
Outlet centers: This is one type of shopping mall and the size of this type of shopping mall can be from 50,000 to 4,00,000 square feet. 
Regional centers: The size of this type of shopping mall is from 4,00,000 to 8,00,000 square feet. There are more than two anchors, such as conventional department store, junior department store, mass merchant, discount department store and fashion apparel store. 
Now a days these shopping malls have food courts and offering different food varieties. Shopping malls are managed by a specialized shopping property management company. It takes care of malls.
