Different Types Of Drug Testing

Drug testing can be performed by collecting small samples of urine, blood, saliva, sweat, and hair. All these are sent for the laboratory analysis and are checked whether they are drug addicted or not. Generally Drug testing is done for the people to save their lives.


Drug Test by urine: Generally urine is collected at a remote place in a cup. Then it is sealed with a tampered resistant tape and is sent to the laboratory for the test. It is a cost effective method and is used frequently.


Drug test by Blood: A small amount or small sample of blood is taken from vein of the hand or arm and are sent to the laboratories for testing. And the result obtained by this type of testing will be accurate and it is the most expensive method.


Drug Test by Saliva: They are generally used for checking the consumption of the drug during the previous few days. One of the main advantages is that it can be on site during the part of random testing. For example if the alcohol is consumed it long lasts for about 6-12 hours after the consumption. Generally alcohol breathalyzer can easily detect the drug user.


Drug Test by Sweat: Here simply some patches are used for testing. These patches are attached to the skin for about 1 to 4 hours so, as to detect the drug user. Generally this patch test is done for the school children.


Drug test by Hair: Markers are produced if there is consumption of the drug. If the quantity of the markers is more then it indicates that the consumption of the drug is more. Strands of hair are collected and then sent for labs for detecting the markers.


Thus, these are the different methods which are used for drug testing.
