Vehicle History Report: A Best Tool To Check Used Cars

Shopping for a used car is a very critical process. A little mistake while buying process can result into a big loss. It is because some faults of used are always kept hidden. In earlier period, there is no any medium to check these faults and buyer have to go on the evidence in front of them. But now with the help of VIN, vehicle history can be known. The report, which is available after VIN test, is known as vehicle report.

This report has nine categories such as report summary, vehicle specifications, accident check, mileage accuracy check, lemon check, ownership check, recall check, and warranty check and vehicle history details. All these data is summarized into the table format, which may reveal the car problem.

All history of vehicle is drawn from the monster database of Experian and coupled with consumer guide’s repair information. This report is capable to track trouble spots for year, make and model of the vehicle.

Vehicle history report can be obtained from different internet companies. Carfax is the first company who started the process to obtain vehicle history report. Now Fairfax, a Virginia-based company provides 4,400 different information sources and data base of more than two billion records. Vehicle history report is much better than odometer check. For example – a report show that a vehicle was checked in December 1999 at 55,000 miles. But, just after two months when it was issued for the title change the odometer reading was recorded as 45, 0000 miles. Hence odometer check is not authentic.

Title washing is another scam, which can be detected with the help of vehicle history report. It mainly happens when a state X does not recognize titles from state Y. Hence, a vehicle history report has key role to check out used car status.
