Role of Translators in Global Business

Translators play major role in global business. They improve communication by conveying information correctly from one language to another in various countries across the world. Interpreters will deal with verbal communication whereas translators will deal with written communication. So, both are different.

Some business areas in which translators play an important role are:

• Medical translators: Medical translators help in translating patients' journals and hospital information brochures into patients' corresponding languages. Medical translators will have solid knowledge regarding medical and familiar terms in both languages, and also the cultural aspect about how the patient gains the information.
• Localization translators: Localization involves complete adjustment of a product for use in other language and culture. A translator will possess strong knowledge about the local users of the product. The main aim of localization translators is to make the product get adapted as if it had been originally fabricated in the country where it will be sold and sustained.
• Specialized business translators: Specialized business translation includes specialist translation in different fields like, finance, economics, marketing etc. An interpreter or translator will possess strong knowledge of the corresponding businesses and markets and current events. This includes the translation of documents like financial statements, mutual funds reports, regulatory statements and reports etc. into the target language.

Translators help in cross-cultural communication between businesses by translating written language into the target language.
