Different Types of Microwave Oven Based on Size

Microwave oven is an electrical device which is used in the kitchen for heating the foods by dielectric heating. Modern ovens are not only used to heat the food but also used to brown or bake the food.

Microwave ovens are available in different sizes, colors, etc some of which are given below:

Portable:
These are the smallest ovens available in the market and these measure 28 centimeters tall, 38 centimeters wide and 25 centimeters deep. Some of these use 12 V DC power supplies.

Medium Capacity:
These models heights and depths are only marginally larger than other types, but they are typically more than 50 centimeters wide. Their capacity is in between 30 and 45 liters and power ratings are 1000–1500 W. These are generally family sized, have features like auto cook, grills conventional oven heating elements.

Large Capacity:
These are used to cook large meals and they can handle of 25 by 35 centimeters sized dishes, which can cook tall items like roasts or turkey breasts. Large capacity ovens normally use over 2000 W power and have over 60 liters of capacity.

Built in Ovens:
These are built into cabinetry and are typically more expensive than similar sized counter top models. Some models include exhaust fans to allow installation above cook tops.

Compact Ovens:
These are the popular type of ovens in the market and these ovens are rated between 500 and 1000 watts and have less than 28 liters in capacity. These can accommodate 2 liters round casserole dishes and are suitable for light cooking.
