Pregnancy is not an Exemption from Doing Yoga

Unlike in all other exercises there is no need to stop the practice of yoga when some body knows that they are about to conceive. They can undoubtedly continue yoga by making little changes in the techniques and postures which they used to do regularly. In fact there are some prenatal yoga classes which are offered especially to pregnant women.

During the time of pregnancy the body will undergo a lot of changes both physically and mentally. To cope up with those changes yoga was proved effective. It aids pregnant women in enhancing breathing and thus providing relaxation both to the body and mind. Breathing exercises are the important part of the procedure which are designed to relax and calm the body during delivery. The breathing technique connected to the yoga helps to calm the mind by eliminating any kind of stress which can be harmful during pregnancy.

Yoga also helps in relieving pains during pregnancy. The regular practice of yogic exercises meant for the pregnant women improves the flexibility, blood circulation, and muscle toning. It helps in the physical and mental development of the fetus and thus ensures a healthy baby. Yoga also helps in improvement of the blood supply and nutrients to the developing fetus.

The essential thing is one should know their limitations and make sure that the postures are aligning with the changes occurred in the body. Avoiding dangerous postures which include inverted postures, lying down on the belly, lying completely on the back is very important. If they feel uncomfortable in doing any postures its better to stop and go with the breathing exercises.

Along with practicing yoga it is also important to follow balanced diet which keeps both the mother and the baby healthy. Properly warm up while you are starting your session and cool down steadily once you are done with it.
