Know about Dental Sealants

Dental sealants is one of the dental procedures. It is used to prevent the  formation of cavities in a mouth. Dental sealants are made of thin plastic material which can be applied to the surface of the backside of the tooth to prevent formation of bacteria or plaque which can lead to tooth loss. In order to prevent plaque, dental sealants are used and applied on the surface of the backside of the tooth.

Generally backside teeth contains grooves and whenever we eat food, food substances are remained in these grooves. This can lead to formation of plaque which results in tooth decay, which in turn leads to tooth loss.

If we apply sealants to those surfaces of back teeth, the sealants protect back teeth against the formation of plaque. These sealants are available in clean white color. Dental sealants are applied to children and teenagers because in these ages only there will be more chances of forming the plaque.

So, dental sealants are useful for keeping your teeth clean.
