How to Use a Dinner Napkin?

Some rules you need to follow while suing dinner napkins at fancy restaurants, job interviews over a meal, or dinner at a friend's home because it shows the etiquette manner of the diner or a person.

Dinner napkins are used in restaurants for just wiping your mouth while eating any messy food. It is meant only to be dabbed at the lips and should not get dirty in the process of swiping. The main usage of napkins on table is to preserve cleanliness and proper appearance. However, dinner napkins are placed extremely left of the main plate or beneath the forks. Some restaurants place napkins on the main plate as well as may be in the glass ( napkin with folded) for decorative purpose.

Whenever you are seated in your place, take the napkin from your place setting, unfold it, and put it in your lap. In some restaurants, the waiter may do this for the diners. Never keep or tug the napkin on your shirt collar. This may look odd because napkins are even used to protect clothing. Suddenly, if your napkin falls on the floor, never retrieve it and ask the serving staff to get a fresh one.

Throughout your meal, dinner napkin should be on your lap only. Whenever you finish your dinner, place the napkins without crushed or twisted towards left side of your plate. If you leave these napkins like this, serving staff will feel that you are feeling untidiness or nervousness. Even these napkins are also not placed with folding.
