Role of Home Keeping Department of Hotel

Maintaining the hotel in the proper manner is very important. Housekeeping department is one of the departments to maintain the hotel. The common job of the housekeeping staff is restocking toiletries, changing the bedding and general cleaning. Sometimes the role of this department can go beyond the cleanliness of hotel. Housekeepers are responsible to keep the clean facility and providing safe and comfortable for guests of hotels.

The importance of department: Housekeeping department is important to attract and impress the guests through maintaining the role of the department with top quality décor, services and cleanliness of the hotel.

Service staff: There are many roles, which are given to housekeeping department in the service staff of a hotel. It includes the gardeners, maintenance men, bellhops, laundry staff and floor managers and sometimes customer service professionals apart from the room attendants.

Housekeepers: Most of the complaints of the customers directed to the chief housekeeper and they can be dealt among the housekeeping staff of the hotel. They also deal with purchasing the special items and assisting the sales teams.

Special roles: Housekeeping department is also responsible for a level of security, safety and environmental duties, like composting and recycling and more.
